about

Working parents shouldn't have to split themselves in two

Treasure Time helps employers make parenthood visible, supported and measurable — through an experience parents can feel at home and evidence People teams can use at work.

Built from therapeutic practice. Designed for real working lives.

Treasure Time began with a simple observation: support often peaks around parental leave, then drops away during the long, demanding years that follow. Parents are left to manage the tension privately, while employers struggle to see where loyalty and belonging are being lost.

The programme turns therapist-designed play and guided conversation into a practical workplace-funded experience. Parents receive live support, a small peer cohort and physical materials they can use at home. Employers receive manager enablement and before-and-after reporting — joining human connection with commercial clarity.

Meet Sophia

I’ve spent more than 15 years working with children and families, and Treasure Time grew out of what I saw again and again in that work.

I’m a qualified Play Therapist with a Master’s in Play Therapy, and before founding Treasure Time I founded and led a children’s mental health charity. Through that work, I supported hundreds of children and parents, including families navigating anxiety, behavioural difficulties and emotional challenges.

One of the things I became most interested in was what we could do earlier. So much of my work happened once families were already struggling, yet the same foundations we drew on therapeutically, connection, play, emotional attunement and a strong parent-child relationship, can be nurtured as part of ordinary family life.

That’s what led me to create Treasure Time.

Treasure Time takes what we know from attachment, child development and therapeutic play and turns it into something parents can actually use: a simple weekly practice that helps them understand their child, strengthen their relationship and build skills they can draw on every day.

Treasure Time almost gives you permission to take pressure off and to simplify things. You get more from it without realising. And then you look back and you go, ‘it’s so different now'

our approach

The CARE method

Most employers care about their working parents. Many already have good policies and benefits in place. But the experience of being a parent at work is shaped by what happens day to day: whether parenthood is visible, whether managers understand the pressures parents are navigating, whether there are opportunities to connect with others, and whether support makes a meaningful difference to life outside work.

The CARE Method helps employers close the gap between offering support and employees genuinely feeling supported.

C

Care through change

Support parents through the moments when family and working life change, including parental leave, returning to work, childcare transitions and changing family circumstances.

A

Acknowledge openly

Make parenthood visible and accepted across the organisation, so employees feel able to use the support available without worrying about how it will be perceived.

R

Real support

Offer practical support for the pressures parents are actually experiencing, including life outside work, so employer care is tangible rather than something that exists mainly in policy.

E

Equip managers

Help managers understand the realities of working parenthood and give them the confidence to bring policies and parent-supportive culture to life in everyday interactions.
